Survival Weekend and Freshstart Experiences

Here are just a few things our students had to say about their experiences with Survival Weekend and Freshstart their first year on campus.

 

"When I walked through the doors of the BSU for the first time, I did not know a single person. Had I chosen not to participate in Survival Weekend later that week, that circumstance may have never changed. However, I did attend Survival Weekend and became involved with the FreshStart Bible study in the weeks to follow, and it has become th distinguishing event of my Freshman year. Because of FreshStart, I not only drew closer to God during a very unstable time in my life, but I have also developed friends, mentors, and accountability that will accompany me throughout the years ahead."

"Freshstart meant the world to me as a freshman. Coming into college, I knew very few people, but as soon as I met some of the people involved with freshstart, I felt like they had been my friends for years. It was so comforting to have godly people ready and willing to pour into my life. The friends I met through Freshstart are some of my best friends, and will be throughout my college experience. Without Freshstart, I do not know how I would have survived my first semester at Ole Miss."

"My Freshstart experience was a blessing like I never could have expected it to be. It set the pace for my discipleship training in college and introduced me to some of the fun, amazing people that are eager to make new friends at the BSU. A couple of the people in my small group are now among my closest friends. It was really great to be able to connect with people right off the bat on a deeper than surface level. I could not have done without it."
